Happy Valentine’s Day!

You are about to read a happily-single-girl’s blog about Valentine’s so reader’s discretion is advised. 🙂

It’s that time of the year again where couples show extra love to each other and singles.. well, it depends. For the past few years, I have been sadly single and frankly, it sucked balls. It sucks how we let a man-made holiday make us feel like shit for being ‘unloved’ even if we’re not. Everyday, we surround ourselves with people we love and who love us in return. They may not be ours exclusively but they’re still ours in their own way.

Why grieve over not having one significant other when you have hundreds of people more than willing to share and receive love? Your ‘The One’ will come soon, don’t worry. Just imagine, if you enjoy Valentine’s Day as a single and your The One tops your best single Valentine’s Day ever, that’s saying something!

Think of how much more you can over-eat with your girls (or boys) without being judged or trying to impress someone! Let’s not underestimate the power of food when it comes to bringing us pure joy! Think of how much more chocolate you can get from all your different friends since you’re not bound to just one!

Also, nothing tops receiving flowers from the best man in our lives: our dads. Every year, my dad gives me, my sister and my mom flowers and honestly, if my dad didn’t give me flowers and my future boyfriend does, I’d cry. But if it was the other way around, I wouldn’t mind so much.

Go out and spread all the love you can. After all, the love you give is equal to the love you take!
